My Role
Treats Island, formerly a candy store, transformed into an innovative online platform for fundraising. It aims to help youth sports teams and revolutionizes fundraising by selling candy. The entire campaign is conducted online, with Treats Island taking care of all the logistics.
As the Product Manager, my main goal was to lead the team and manage client relationship to speed up the project's completion. I focused on improving our relationship with stakeholders, promote a digital product culture within the team, and organize all the necessary processes for designing and developing the platform. Many of my tasks also corresponded to the role of a Scrum Master.
The Team
Our team was diverse and skilled. We were only four: a backend developer who worked on server-side logic, a frontend developer who managed the interface and design, and a dedicated leader who guided our efforts. As the Product Manager, I led the team in improving the product. In smaller projects, team members often handle multiple tasks, making us more versatile.
Main Challenge
We needed to develop a seamless user experience for all users and to incorporate all the necessary functionalities to create a 100% digital platform for fundraising focused on youth sports team. This platform is based on social giving and network building, stimulated by social media.
Since this product has three distinct user types, each one with a unique journey on the platform, my first step was to comprehend the user journey and the project's status. I created a User Story Map that delineated the steps users take on the platform.

Following this, I embarked on the detailed process of formulating task flows for each unique category of user. This was a procedure designed to ensure that we could gain a crystal-clear understanding and visualization of the individual steps on the platform. By doing this, we were able to gain valuable insights into the user journey and how our platform could be optimized to facilitate a smoother and more intuitive experience.
Task Flows
To increase productivity, we implemented a Release and Quality Assurance (QA) Process. This process has proven to be instrumental in maintaining and improving the quality of everything we build. We were able to identify and address any potential issues or bugs early on, ensuring that our final products are of the highest quality. This approach not only helps us meet our project goals but also provide confidence to our stakeholders and customers, as they can rely on the consistent delivery of top-notch solutions.
Release flow
The platform has been successfully launched and is currently in the testing phase with our first real users. We are excited to see the positive reception and engagement from our initial user base, which provides valuable insights and feedback for further improvements. As we continue to gather data and analyze user behavior, we will be able to make data-driven decisions and refine the platform even further to enhance user experience.
